YouTube Premium Family in Malaysia now costs more for subscribers. Google has increased the monthly subscription fee by 26%. This is the first price hike since YouTube Premium was introduced in Malaysia in 2019.
YouTube Premium Family account in Malaysia now costs RM33.90/month. This is an increase of RM7 from the previous price of RM26.90/month. It means each member in a family of 5 will pay RM5.65/month. Existing users will receive an email notification about the price change and its effective date. However, the rates for YouTube Premium individual and student accounts in Malaysia remain the same at RM17.90/month and RM10.90/month respectively.
YouTube Premium subscription offers ad-free YouTube videos and the ability to download them for offline viewing. You can also play videos in the background while using other apps. YouTube Premium includes ad-free access to YouTube Music and offline downloads with background playback. YouTube Kids also offers ad-free and offline playback features. New subscribers can enjoy a free trial of YouTube Premium for the first month. To maintain ad revenue, YouTube blocks access for users with ad blockers enabled. Users using ad blockers will see a message stating that ad blocks are not allowed and a link to try YouTube Premium.
